Emily is passionate about environmental justice and stormwater management. She grew up in Baton Rouge and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University in 2021. She was named LSU’s Olmsted Scholar in 2020 and was inducted into Tau Sigma Delta Design Honors Society upon graduation. Her professional experience has given her a wide range of skills in designing parks and public spaces, residential design, and single and multi-family residential projects. Her senior capstone project at LSU focused on retrofitting the drainage system in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans to better protect the community from flooding while promoting stronger neighborhood ties. She believes changing the perspective of water from a nuisance to a valuable resource is essential in developing prosperous cities along the coast. She hopes to continue her study of flooding and drainage to protect the people, culture, and heritage of Southern Louisiana. Emily has grown into a well-rounded designer utilizing her academic and professional experiences to create thoughtful designs indicative of the communities they serve. She has worked on projects with varying scales including large scale urban design, greenway systems, residential, institutional, and commercial.
